Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

Padres beat the Nationals 4-1. Only 8 more months left in preseason

Doesn't this season feel like it's been preseason all this time? The games don't mean anything other than to give us a hint at what we might be able to do once the regular season starts. I'm feeling pretty good about the team, but, as a Padres fan, I've been through plenty of seasons where we play spoiler. I'd rather the wins actually mean something for us.

In any case, we won again. We won another series. The team looks pretty good. A few additions. A couple of subtractions and I think we'll be much much closer to a .500 ballclub.

I'm just about ready for the real regular season to begin. Just gotta get to 2010 first.

Remember when this was the best season evar?

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on our souls.

I'm really interested to see what Richard's ceiling is.

I mean, it’s certainly possible, maybe likely, what we see is what we’re going to get.

But he’s still quite young, and is still transitioning from being a bull-pen arm to being a starter. When his stuff is on, it’s ON. To me, that says he needs to practice more and learn how to be consistent.

I’d say his upside is as a #3, middle of the rotation pitcher. But I’d be happy with him as our #4 or 5 starter too.

Thoughts?

Greg Maddux for manager.

How 'bout that pick off move?

Smooth.

I like how he carries himself on the field as well. I think he has the mental make-up and physical talent to be a #3, but only time will tell.

"Get on board early," Black said, alluding to, what he feels, is a crop of up-and-coming players.

"I would tell those fans that we're going to play good baseball. We're going to play hard. We're going to have exciting young players..." -Bud Black
