First-round pick, Donavan Tate, who Monday agreed to a $6.25 million signing bonus, will have his professional career delayed by an abdominal strain.
Grady Fuson, the Padres vice president of player development and scouting, said Tate first complained about a pain in his side on Thursday.
"If it's not better my Monday, he could return to San Diego for tests," Fuson said.

Saw on another blog
that he hurt it in batting practice at Petco that first day he was a Padre. Guess he was trying to impress too much after not swinging a bat for a couple of months.
