I know
it’s like they forgot about Jody Reed.

Quilivio!
Roberto Alomar had three pretty damn good seasons at 2nd for the Padres. His rookie year he came in 5th in the voting for Rookie of the Year…and his 3rd season he was an All-Star.
Loretta?

Jesus Lopez!
wiggins! Wiggins and Alomar – and they pick Lorreta?? I’d rather have Drew Brees at 2nd than Loretta.

Loretta had the best single season by a Padres second baseman in the franchise’s history.

Did you know
That he finished 9th in the MVP voting that year.
His career triple slash line with the Padres was .314/.377/.438. He appeared as All Star for the Padres and he won a silver slugger award.
Alomar’s was .283/.339/.379 with less HRs, same number of All Star appearances, no silver slugger awards and no MVP top 10s. He did have 90 SBs. He was probably the best defensively of the 3, but didn’t win a gold glove until his first non-Padre season.
Wiggins was around .264/.338/.322 plus his miserable 40 PAs in 1985 (BBRef didn’t let me include those in easily). No All Star appearances, no top 10 MVP finishes (he did get 16th in 1984) and no silver slugger awards. He had 171 SBs.
Memo to baseball managers: You manufacture runs by NOT making outs, not by making them on purpose.

It has to be Robbie Alomar, heck I would even take Wiggins over Loretta

Kouz's swing
Watching Kouz’s swing yesterday, it’s not pretty. Compared to Adrian or Fielder or Jonny Dub, Kouz looks anxious and forced.
