Padres fall to Brewers 12-9, San Diego weeps

The Padres took their series against the Brewers, but they lost the one that counts. That's the one that counts because I'm the kind of guy who's all like, "What have you done for me lately?" And if the Padres are like, "You need to look further back and remember what we did before then," I'll be all like, "I ain't an elephant with a computer robot brain."

Cesar Carillo took the loss and I'm about ready to trade him.

Cabrera stole a base cause he's awesome.

Maybe YOU'D like to do the recaps

How about this. At the end of the game, when yall are putting comments in there with subject lines like “W” and “L”, just write a recap item and I’ll put them in the recap thing.

I'm so angry at you

Now we are enemies, but then I think about the good times again, I apologize for being so angry…

And now we are friends again.

That was fast

Let’s never fight again. I’ll delete the number of the women’s shelter from my phone.

Kouz is starting to resemble a major league hitter

He broke .300 in OBP and has now gotten out only 69.5% of the time he comes up. His OBP and Batting average are both higher than they were last year. One thing I did notice about last year’s numbers: How the eff did he get 4 triples? I’m amazed he has 1 this year. He had an injury that made him slow for a while right? I’m trying to remember what that was; a knee? a foot? a hip? a quad? a calf? a hammy? I can’t remember. I think it might have been a hammy though.

I’m sure he’ll now revert back to a 1-20 streak or something. Maybe he’ll wait until Petco and we can pretend to like him while they are still in St. Louis.

Headley’s OBP looks decent too. His power is still way behind last year though. Even if he does finish with slightly better numbers than last year, it’s still disappointing to see a 25 year old hitter not make a jump in his development. I’ll still keep the faith that he’ll make that jump as a 26 year old next year.

Memo to baseball managers: You manufacture runs by NOT making outs, not by making them on purpose.

I'm thinking we should give Carillo another shot

It’s not like we’re competing for anything, anyway.

Also I hope that the Padres bats will keep going once we get out of Brewerland. We just might get out of the cellar, lol.

Fantastic recap.

No wonder SB Nation insists on having these.

Since I was in the airport

Can someone tell me if Carillo was really as bad as the numbers suggest and if so what do people think of his first start?

I joined late after it was already 9-0 or something

But Ted said he threw hard, maybe supplied a little of the power on the homeruns, which leads me to believe it was a mechanics/location problem. Now it’s Balsley’s time to go to work.

Also

cue the funny circus music I pretend to hear in my head when Wonko breaks out all the stats.

Drama is an a-hole.

FanGraphs hasn't put it up yet

Plus, I’m not going to waste my time wondering why a guy that was pushed to the majors before he was ready struggled. I think I have a clear understanding why he had problems.

And I think that really sucks they felt the need to rush him like that

especially after seeing him struggle at AAA.

I hope they didn’t permanently screw up his recovery.

Greg Maddux for manager.

The recaps are getting shorter...

Done by middle of next week, I think. TAKE THAT, SB NATION!!!

It wasn't a very rewarding endeavor
