If Eckstein was on the juice that would've been gone
Somebody’s doing it wrong and sadly, it’s David Eckstein.
Scott got under it.
Too bad, could’ve hit that one a long way.

Chad Reineke.
Don’t know if he’s even still in baseball.

He's young, and has like 600 major league ABs
spread over 3 seasons.
Kouz, on the other hand, has had nearly 2000 ABs and is trending downward.

You know how it is
when a story first breaks.
The details are a little sketchy.
One story online said it was in a hotel.

The Nashville paper

an apparent double homicide
according to CNN sports
Now I read
in a Nashville Condo
Not a hotel as I posted earlier.

If Torre could have got out to argue a bit quicker he could have gone like “Bud Black on MBradley” on Manny.

Do they care when that happens to any other player?
by Zach (maestro876) on Jul 4, 2009 2:14 PM PDT reply actions
No conspiracy
they just think everyone cares about Manny more than any other player.
And, sadly, they’re probably right.
by Zach (maestro876) on Jul 4, 2009 2:16 PM PDT up reply actions
He is just a bigger story right now.
I don’t think it has anything to do with “everyone cares” about him.

Yeah, so assuming we win, he still gets the save.

no, he entered the game in a save situation.
he will get a save, assuming the Padres win. It was clearly a save situation when he entered the game. A three-run lead or less.
Heath really needs to get some guys out now.

Bell has requested more work, and he's getting it.
23 saves in 24 chances. ERA rises to 1.53.
Announcers are idiots
said Bell got his first major league win…it was his 4th this yr.
"Quote me as saying I was mis-quoted."
Groucho Marx
And it wasn't a win.
It was a save.
by Zach (maestro876) on Jul 4, 2009 4:25 PM PDT up reply actions
he did not win the game. he saved it.
Burke got the win, because he was the pitcher of record when the Padres took the lead.
ESPN.com
has scored the game correctly. Burke with the win, Bell with the save. Burke got his first major league win. That must have been what they said or meant to say.
