Game Thread: 7/25, Padres vs. Nationals

San Diego Padres at Washington Nationals, Jul 25, 2009 4:05 PM PDT

Is it possible for the Padres to win two games in a row?  No, but that doesn't mean that we have to like it.

Go Padres!

Can Blanks ever get regular at-bats?

I know he’s scuffling, but how do you expect him to get out of it consistently?

by JollyWaffle on Jul 25, 2009 4:05 PM PDT reply actions

I'm talking about overall he's been scuffling.

He’s done well the last few games yes but the guy just can’t get any sort of rhythm going if he doesn’t start for for than just a few days in a row.

I don't think he's casting judement on Blanks

As much as his casting it on Buddy.

Nats have a pretty damn decent offense

for being such a poor team. Plus the umpire gets charged with one of those runs and if Kouz could catch it would be zero runs. Of course, the ball has been hit hard three times.

Wonk, when we were talking about Scribner on the other post

I wasn’t trying to say I thought that he was the best prospect in AA. I just meant that from looking at what he’s done and his intangibles, he seems like he has more upside than Cla Meredeth part II.

Mission's Craig Cooper

Cooper is almost never (if at all) mentioned during prospect breakdown’s/analysis but the guy is absolutely raking this year. Having not seen him play, I am wondering how good of an athlete he is in terms of playing an OF position. Cooper doesn’t have many long balls for a corner a first basemen which is why he flies under the radar.
