Game Thread: 7/25, Padres vs. Nationals
San Diego Padres at Washington Nationals, Jul 25, 2009 4:05 PM PDT
Is it possible for the Padres to win two games in a row? No, but that doesn't mean that we have to like it.
Go Padres!

Can Blanks ever get regular at-bats?
I know he’s scuffling, but how do you expect him to get out of it consistently?
He's been raking lately.

I'm talking about overall he's been scuffling.
He’s done well the last few games yes but the guy just can’t get any sort of rhythm going if he doesn’t start for for than just a few days in a row.
He's only had 75 PAs and 63 ABs

Nats have a pretty damn decent offense
for being such a poor team. Plus the umpire gets charged with one of those runs and if Kouz could catch it would be zero runs. Of course, the ball has been hit hard three times.

Less so at Nelson Wolff
And I don’t like to see Kluber giving them up. But, hopefully there is enough for the Missions to win obviously

See Brock and his Stras to the Pads in '10 draft?
i guess you cant rule it out. Heard a Stan Kasten interview and he had a hint of doubt about meeting the demands of Stras but that couldve been a ploy. They cant afford a revolt

Mission's Craig Cooper
Cooper is almost never (if at all) mentioned during prospect breakdown’s/analysis but the guy is absolutely raking this year. Having not seen him play, I am wondering how good of an athlete he is in terms of playing an OF position. Cooper doesn’t have many long balls for a corner a first basemen which is why he flies under the radar.

Kouz
As far as Kouzmanoff, not since Melvin Nieves, have I disliked a Padres player as much as I dislike this guy. He is brutal.
Well, at least we're losing to the Nationals this year.
No way they’re gonna screw up our second chance to get Stras. I’m starting to really think that might be “The Plan”.
