The sad part is
He’s was struggling mightily in the Padres lowest minor league level so it wasn’t even working for him.
However, considering that he was hurt for a while, this could be a “Luis Castillo-style” case of PED usage where he was trying to heal faster as opposed to hit the ball harder.
Memo to baseball managers: You manufacture runs by NOT making outs, not by making them on purpose.
