Padres hire Bob Melvin, continue tradition of redundancy
I'm sure there's a good reason why the Padres have decided to hire Bob Melvin without first firing our current manager, but it escapes me a little bit. I would have thought the days of hiring redundant positions were gone with the new ownership coming through, but I would have thought wrong.
Does this remind anybody else of when Moores and Alderson brought in Paul DePodesta (of whom we're big fans)? Not saying it wasn't nice to have the "brain trust" we had, but hiring people to unspecific positions doesn't really bode well for anybody.

David Justice is gonna be so pissed
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

Let's be honest
David Justice didn’t get the job because everyone hates him for marrying Halle Berry

Funny about the Melvin replacing Bud talk
Bud throws the left-handed batting practice, which is what Justice was offering. FOR FREE

Hmmmm....
If the Padres would hire a guy they actually have to pay over a guy they can have for free…well…enough said.
Eerie.
Swap one of the baseballs in that picture with a copy of US magazine, and he even looks Like Buddy.
"2009 Padres.....Yeah, we're still here.
Why should the Padres use Justice just because he is willing to work for free?
Jim Lefebvre should be the next manager.
