It Might Be Dangerous... You Go First: 1st Round Pick
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding this pick over the past few weeks, but Tate has always been in the front of our minds. He is a potential 5-tool player who plays in the middle of the diamond and is probably the best athlete in the draft. We're taking our shot. -

It Might Be Dangerous... You Go First: 2nd Round Pick
Everett Williams, OF from Austin McCallum HS in Texas This is another highly athletic HS outfielder who we think can really hit. He's about 5'10" and 200lbs and is another potential 5-tool guy. -

"It’ll depend on where I get taken in the draft and the opportunity there is for me," Tate said of his possible decision to play professional baseball. "Education is a big deal for my mom and my family, so it’s great that I’ll have the opportunity to go to school." His high school coach Barden agreed, saying, "I think his initial thoughts are to go to college and play both (sports)." But he also added that the money that comes with being a top draft pick might be too much to pass up.

Hopefully...
The pads will be able to sign him, i dont know why some people seem to be upset about this pick, his numbers so far are pretty cool and all I can say is that i look forward to seeing Mr.Tate at our lineup somewhere in the next 4 years.
Is too early to know how he will develop, all the hate just comes from pure assumption, lets try and sign him and see where it all goes, nothing can be as bad as the 04 fiasco, he of “who we don’t speak off” is now gone.
Fingers crossed

I have a hard time believing
That somebody would get Scott Boras as their agent if they weren’t seriously considering signing with a team for the right price.
Memo to baseball managers: You manufacture runs by NOT making outs, not by making them on purpose.
I guess that depends
on his definition of “the right price”.

If he does sign
When he comes up to the big club, they should definitely give him #9, then we can call him “Love Potion”
"2009 Padres.....Yeah, we're still here.
