Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

I’m pulling for him to come back to the Braves, but I don’t see it happening.

Betemit is a utility type who plays 3B, 2B, and the Yankees used him a lot at 1B. He’s grown a little bit to play SS, but he might be able to play it in small amounts. His peripherals at SS show lots of minuses, but he’s a solid infield switch-hitting backup with good PH ability, and power from both sides of the plate.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Hmmm

so we could use him. But his contract is a little high(1.3 Million) to be a platooning infielder

He'd be better than Floyd

He could stay healthy, hit a bit and play all the infield spots (as royhobbs pointed out).

If we were to claim him

would we be able to trade floyd? I was thinking maybe 1 sub-par prospect for Floyd to some team that wants a left handed bat off the bench.

I like the way you're thinking

"Get on board early," Black said, alluding to, what he feels, is a crop of up-and-coming players.

Why would anyone give anything up for Floyd

when we would be releasing him and they can pick him up off the floor for nothing?

well look at last year when

the Rockies traded Jaun Castro for some sub-par prospect? I don’t know who the Rockies got, but it was a small low, low, low, low ceiling prospect for some old backup infielder. I think we could get like 1 sub-par prospect from some team looking to add a left handed bat off there bench

You are using the word prospect wrong

Prospects have value, career minor leaguers, like the one you’re talking about, Mike McCoy, are a waste of this organization’s time.
