I haven't listened to this one yet. -
Padres suffer home invasion
"I kept my balance, got my foot on the bag and Jimmy Rollins clearly pushed me off. He (Emmel) missed it." -
Gonzalez's 21st homer comes in loss | padres.com: News
"He clearly pushed me. My toe was on the bag.... he didn't just go to try to tag me. He went with his whole body. He acted like his intention was to push me." -
Cabrera to start in Petco's opening act
Honestly I forgot how Cabrera was hurt. Oh it says here he fractured the hook of his hamate bone in his left hand and he's on the 60 day DL. "I feel 100 percent in most things and maybe 90 to 95 percent hitting from the right side," said Cabrera. "But I feel great running and in the field." In the same article, Shawn Hill still doesn't know what's wrong with his arm: "It could be anything from total reconstruction surgery to tendinitis," Hill said. "I don't know what we're trying to fix. Everyone is frustrated with it. No one can figure out what is going on." -
PADRES: Phillies still own Petco Park : North County Times - Californian 06-02-2009
"They're great hitters," Gonzalez said. "They do play in a hitter's park, but at the end of the day, they're great hitters." -

Looking at Adrian’s Home Runs :: Friar Forecast
"The big question is whether Adrian’s power spike is real, or luck driven. The answer: a little of both." Friar Forecast thinks Gonzalez will make a run at 50 home runs for the season. -
Hairston hitting stride in everyday role | padres.com: News
"I've always believed I could hit right-handers. I think the regularity of me being in the lineup has been the biggest difference." -
Peavy's agent: Nothing against White Sox
Blame it on the bloggers: "It was not that Jake didn't want to come to the White Sox," agent Barry Alexrod said. "He felt very uncomfortable being put in the position to have to publicly render his verdict on whether to go or stay. We would rather these things stay private. But that is hard to do these days with blogging and texting and people in the clubhouse. These things always come out. And it did." -
Chrissy's Outfit of the Day - KSWB
Actually here's today's picture of Chrissy with a pink blouse and trademark short skirt. -
Twitter / San Diego Padres:
Adrian Gonzalez (21 homers) and Scott Hairston (8 homers) have both hit home runs in each of the last three games. -
Twitter / Corey Brock, MLB.com:
"We're missing @Jennych4 in the press box tonight. She's giving away tickets again I see. Me? 750 = press box chili cheese dog and a hug." I want that hug so badly! - Corey Brock talks with 1360AM (MP3)
Why is Corey wasting his time writing when he has a soothing yet powerful voice like that. -
Sharapova's Thigh: Leighton Meester Is The Adrian Gonzalez Of Babes
For some reason when I read this headline I thought of one of the other characters in the Speedy Gonzalez cartoons saying "Meester Gonzalez".

With the new SBNation clipping features
it’s so easy to make these sort of post. WG would bust a nut if he had it to do SLPiH.
How much would I pay for all these great features?
I don’t know… $100?

Hairston is for real.
I don’t know what else he has to do to prove it. Especially considering his last three homers have been against righties, and two of them have been to center or right-center.

Hairston
is at the age where many players with his skill set will have a career year. That’s not meant to take anything away from Hairston or his season. He is earning every bit of praise he his getting. I just thought I’d point out that while he is having an excellent year and will probably continue to do so, this is not a breakout performance for a future superstar. It’s a career year from a talented player who was given an opportunity to finally get more PAs. Similar to Ryan Ludwick last year. He will probably go on to have some solid seasons, but probably not like this one. I guess my overall point is, enjoy this season from Shrek because this will probably be his best one ever.

We really need to figure out the outfield situation to get Hairston regular time in one position
A Kouzmanoff trade would remedy this.
"If I wasn't Bob Dylan, I'd probably think that Bob Dylan has a lot of answers myself." - Bob Dylan
I thought it is figured out
At least before Hairston got hurt. The solution was: Hairston plays everyday. Insert 2 out of Giles, Gwynn, Headley as needed. If Giles plays he only plays RF. If Headley plays, he only plays LF. Hairston cannot play RF. Gwynn may play any of the three. In case of emergency, break glass and inset Burke (not RF) or EGon (not CF).
It’s almost as if Bud Black has these rules written down somewhere.

I wanted to
play rollins-fisty-face especially when he was just looking the other way with his hands behind his back. I wondered, is their some kind of penalty for stuff like that, if it gets called?

Nope.
He’s got nothing to lose by trying it.

It's a done deal
Sec 201, Row 6.
I’m going to load my pockets with foul balls and be close enough that I can catch the mist of Corey’s sneezes.

I'll be there tonight....
Park at the park passes though but I’ve got a hook up with an usher down on the field so will be field level around the 2nd or 3rd inning.
'solo mission to the park'
is that what the kids are calling it these days?
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
That's opposed to
a solo mission indoors.

Kevin Towers says it didn’t come from the Padres
I didn’t hear anybody on CWS’s side saying it wasn’t them.
It was reported first by Chicago media.

true this
the ‘boxman’ has a good eye for finding funny photos or cropping them to make them so
and the chilly, willy, billy, manilly, tilly, sillies who comment here regularly would certainly have something to add to a feature such as you suggest.
