Padres Mujica blows it again...

I have not seen Mujica do his job in a while. Why do they continue using him as a setup guy? I wonder if they see something special in him that I don't. Please never put Mujica in again unless we are already losing badly. I really hate to see our guys' hard work getting blown by an average pitcher. Next time kep Adams in, I never understood why a pitching coach would take out a pitcher if they are doing well. If only our pitchers could come through for us...then we might have a shot.

One game a reliever does not make

I just took a peek here
http://mlb.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=465629
at his last 10 appearances

06/18/2009 SEA 1.0 1 0 0 1

So that’s 1 ER in 11 innings, pretty damn good.

Overall an ERA of 2.91 including today’s explosion, I don’t have a problem with him pitching in the 8th

Adams has only pitched a couple of games, but he was great in the 8th last year, so maybe after he gets back into the swing of things, he may be back there.

Mujica - does it again

I’m tellin you man… Mujica is bad news. SEA vs SAN btm of the 8th

by Sam Hell on Jun 24, 2009 9:49 PM PDT up reply actions

Funny...

Where were you his previous 2 appearances where he didn’t allow a run? Hmm, how odd…

Bell allowed a run 2 nights ago, is he bad news too?

This post came out of no where

Utley went 0 for 5 tonight, should the Phillies get rid of him? Discuss.

Memo to baseball managers: You manufacture runs by NOT making outs, not by making them on purpose.

Yes.

Can we trade Mujica for him?

by Drama on Jun 20, 2009 2:10 PM PDT up reply actions

as long as the phillies ship so monies to pay for his salary. If we are getting a 2B with a track record of going 0 for 5 they should cover the difference

He's been solid all year

but has run into a rough patch, that’s normal and expected. Maybe move him short term to the 7th inning, Adams in the 8th. Gregerson comes back you can rotate him into either spot as well.

Still he doesnt deserve to get beaten upside the head for having two bad outings.

Mujica got a hold tonight!

Sign him to a deal bigger than ARod’s!!!!

Now you're just talkin' CRAZY!

Mojito planted his flag in the 8th today and held the A’s down.

Mujica

is ranked 33rd in FIP (fielding independent pitching expressed in an era like format) among all relievers in baseball. In tRA*, a similar stat (which doesn’t always give the same result), Mujica is 32nd.

That’s a completely respectable line for your 8th inning guy. Adding Adams and Gregorson when he gets back, and now Burke, on top of bell, well, you padre fans can root for a very good pen.

Mujica - unreliable

I still feel that we need to find a better setup guy and ditch Mujica, just look at tonight’s game as Mujica blows it for a loss against SEA…

It's possibly the worst thing ever.

That’s not the first time I’ve had to say that here.

Even funnier...

I just realized after posting that, that this is also the second time he’s asked “What is Twilight?”
