Unofficial Draft Day 3 Open Thread

Starting in round 31!  Today you pick until you can't pick no more!!!  The padres are starting off with arms today.

After adding even more depth are 1B yesterday the team also added some speed with two very inexperienced outfielders, with big potential.  The Padres are also working on a strong game in the paint adding more size.  The Dodgers better watch out cause our bench will go 10 deep soon.

Let's Go Padres!!

It'd be better if there was someway I could edit the fanpost

Then I would set it up the way I did yesterday. I’m a little too busy today to be on the spot with every pick.

Bonita HS is not the same as Bonita Vista HS. I think someone told me Bonita HS is in the LA area somewhere.

I thought I'd look up how many rounds the Padres have picked for in the past

According to BBRef
2008: 43
2007: 35
2006: 45
2005: 50

So it looks like we may be close to finishing.

Latos

pitched well again.

by SD Steve on Jun 11, 2009 10:43 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

All of our starters pitched well yesterday

Schmidt, Luebke and Latos were all good.

And then Correia pitched well on top of that.

Latos might have been the worst performance by a starter in the Padres organization yesterday unless you count the Dominican Summer League.

I think

It’s just out of fairness for the other prospects there. They have a few too many quality OFs and DHs in Fort Wayne. That team is stacked. It just doesn’t seem like they are going to be aggressive with him at all.

Well he's a HS kid

So at least he doesn’t need to go to Eugene. He probably won’t sign anyway.

Hmm

After googling I’m still not sure. Seems like a good player. I wonder if he’s stated that he wants to stay for his senior year and that’s why he went so low.
