Prospect Report: Matt Antonelli

Matt Antonelli was one of San Diego's premiere prospects of the Padres Organization. He was drafted in the first round by the Padres in 2006 17th overall. Now he is having trouble in AAA Portland. Here is his stats for this year so far and his career.

Game Logs:  2008 As you can see, he is batting .167 in 11 games. This might be a a bad slump, but based on his career numbers, this is going to be his norm. I can see him coming to the pros on his fielding alone. I prject him to bat around .220 and 7hr. What do you think the Padres will do with him and what do you project him doing as? PS If you guys like these, can you tell me, I will try and make reports for most of the players on the Padres.

Has stated they have been very “aggressive” in promoting Antonelli through the system. Seems like he stalled with the big jump AA to the Show with only 128 AB in AAA
