WBML: Trading Peavy Would Have Been A Horrible Mistake
Since I have been conspicuously MIA the last month or so (more on that later) my roommate and WBML writing partner Scottie has decided to take on some Padres writing for me. Here is his post on the Peavy trade. He's got some good points in here, so some feedback is encouraged...

I agree with almost every point he made. These Peavy trade talks have baffled me from the start. Peavy isn’t damaged goods, and he’s guaranteed to be around for 3+ years. They should be building around him, not trading him.
On with the (good) youth movement!
