Houston Trip
For those that pay too much attention to every FanPost that comes along, you might remember that my brother and I made a baseball trip last summer that stretched across much of the Midwest and included a handful of Padres games. This year we weren't so ambitious. Our one trip this year was a quick weekend trip to Houston. This was my 20th ballpark bagged and it marked my completion of the NL Central. So, even though I had to endure 2 Padre losses at my own expense at least I reached some ballpark bagging milestones. Okay, the intro's done, let's see what pictures I took.
Here's that train with Oranges that was apparently broke down.
Here's a scoreboard shot, with Correia apparently needing to inspect the grass for gophers. Oh, and Blummer!
Here's more Correia, with his arm in a weird position and then a big team meeting on the mound.
We go to see fireworks after the game, so I tried to get some shots of the dome opening from the same angle.
I was told to "set down" after that because the Houstonians behind me wanted to watch Jeff Keppinger's kid run the bases, so I gave up on my dome opening experiment.
That seems like a lot of pictures for one post. Well, since this is all day one, I'll put up a second post for day two. But first, here's an image of the bobblehead I was given for this game.

2 Things....
A) That is the coolest bobblehead ever
B) Were you even in the ballpark? Those pictures are like Qualcomm Stadium nosebleed section looking.

Dude
Those were good seats. Anybody that says otherwise is just being a snob. Perfect view from up there.

You what bugged me?
The seats don’t face home plate.

Nice work dude
Sorry you had to deal with two losses in a row, but you did get to teabag Minute Maid… I’ve only been to Texas once, Austin in October. How was the experience?

Houston
was quite warm. Which was nice for me cuz San Diego has been on the cooler side as of late. It wasn’t terribly humid, but way more humid than at home. Downtown was deserted. Apparently, it’s not where the Houstonians hang out. I didn’t rent a car so I all I saw was the downtown area.

What I noticed
The billiards and dance halls fill up after sundown and that’s pretty much what they do. The weather was… umm… Biblical?

More on the bobblehead from the note on the box
“Los Caballitos have been a staple at Astros games since Carlos Lee’s arrival as Houston’s everyday left fielder in 2007. This fan club’s name means ‘the little horses’ in honor of Lee’s nickname as El Caballo (the horse). All decked out in their favorite Carlos Lee jerseys and oversized straw hats, this dedicated group of fans carries stick horses to wave proudly through the air in support of their favorite Astro. Fans of all ages have also taken part in ‘riding’ these stick horses along Home Run Alley celebrating each Carlos Lee home run or big hit at Minute Maid Park. This 2009 Carlos lee bobblehead features El Caballo himself suited up as an honorary member of Los Caballitos.”
So they honorarily made him a fan of himself!

RE: Fireworks
They were a special presentation of Friday Night Fireworks on Saturday night!
I tried to get a picture of the scoreboard saying Friday Night Fireworks, but they turned out the lights right as I was taking a picture.
