  • Padres leave door open for Manny, he capitalizes.  Tom Krasovic breaks down the game.  Giles admires Manny's hitting: "He's got power to all fields. It wasn't a high, towering shot. It was more of a line drive. That's what you've got to do here. Keep it low and hopefully hit it over everybody's head."

  • PADRES: Silva holds up well, not so the bullpen. Dan Hayes talks about Silva's first start.  Silva overcame early jitters "My first inning, I was nervous. But I got a couple of outs and I was getting into the game. ... I was doing my job."

  • Debuts spoiled in Padres' loss. Both Silva and Cabrera made their Major League debuts.  Silva took a no decision and Cabrera hit a double.

  • Friar John reminds us that way too much happened on this date in Padres history.
  • Corey Brock tweets that the AAA Beavers start their season tonight.
  • Dan Hayes tweets for NC Times "Talked to Edgar Gonzalez after a long drive was an out on Tuesday and he figured it was Petco 3, Gonzalez Bros. 0. Make it 4-0."
  • Jenny Cavnar reminds us that the game will not be televised today.
  • Team President Garfinkel is looking out for the fans"I don't believe in change for change-sake," Garfinkel said. "When there's change it'll be relevant and thoughtful ... We want to make sure we're paying attention to every detail and listening to the fans."
  • Correia is ready to bounce back this season. "My changeup is pretty good," Correia said. "In the past, it was one of my better pitches. Last year, I just kind of lost it. I've been really working on it this year. It nice to see that it's back to where it was already."
  • Miss California Gaslamp Baller Pad Squad Carrie continues to blog over at Jeff and Jer.   Apparently the contestants can't find the hotel gym because they work out in the halls and stair wells, which is awesome for other guests.   "Tomorrow we have our swimsuit poster photo :) went for a run today in the halls when we got back.. Its kind of silly seeing the looks of peoples faces staying on our floor wondering why all these crazy girls are running..haha. Alrighty signing off..."  Carrie also gave Jeff and Jer exclusive photos:
