Two Padres Links 4/24

I was going to post some links, but there aren't really many worthwhile stories out there this morning that I can find.

I'm going to the game tonight. They better win because three losses in a row is about the most I can stomach.

Every Friday is Friarworks Fireworks for the whole season. Do fireworks bring in crowds? Those are pretty expensive so they must. Is that what people want to see? I prefer to only watch fireworks on July 4th, otherwise they just don't have the same appeal. You look at a Christmas Tree in July and it's just not the same.

I'm going to try and sample the Five for $5 if all goes according to plan.

Everybody is wondering if the Padres are for real. This is the point last season where things went sour. "Five games and 5½ innings into an eight-game road trip, the Padres were 4-1 and holding a 4-0 lead – and looking to have only their second winning road trip since 2007." They ended up 4-4 after losing three straight. Things appear to be getting real. Real fun! Ok, maybe just real.
Nobody really seems to have formed an opinion about Mark Neely yet. Channel 4 isn't getting hate email about him so that's a good thing.
Petco Park won the recycler of the year award yesterday. No link available.

Love fireworks. People in general love fireworks. Probably why Sea World does fireworks all summer long. I saw so many Sea World fireworks when I worked nights, they have lost their magic for me.

I don’t mind Mark Neely as long as I can avoid comparing him to Matty V.

Nice shirt, you should make a Free Peavy shirt and market it to Cubs fans.

They need smokeless fireworks

Obviously this is impossible, but I hate when the smoke obscures the pretty lights near the end of every show at Petco

Ill be at the game too

but i think ill skip the FRIARWORKS in exchange for some exotic beers at yardhouse. Plus ill be with dudes and there’s something about watching fireworks with a bunch of drunk guys that seems too Drama-esque for me.

I really liked Matt and his chemistry with Grant was great. Last season when the Padres were hardly entertaining, at least you could sit back and enjoy the game listening to them. I find Neely very boring. I hate how they say “change is hard for some people”. I would have loved the change if someone cool was given the job.
