It is raining
But not hard. If it stops by 6pm they’ll be fine.

Any more updates?
SD radio keeps talking like there’s a good chance of the game being delayed or postponed.

Buddy was right...
…Heat did need a day off…he just needed to take it Saturday night when we had ALL of the momentum and a 3-run lead. Call it hindsight is 20/20, monday morning quarterbacking or whatever the hell you want to, but the fact of the matter is we didn’t have to use him Saturday night. I know that park is smaller than Williamsport but if we don’t have another guy in that pen we can trust to get 3 outs with a 3 run lead we might as well start grabbing our ankles now…cuz we’re screwed. The second Kouz deposited that ball into the bleachers, the Phillies were DONE.

You're probably right.
Even Saturday, his fastball was barely hitting 94, when it’s been consistently been 95-96.
But yeah, hindsight. No matter what happens today, we’re still in great position.

I dunno
Do you save the Cartographer for Josh Geer’s start? Or do you get the W you know you have right there in front of you?

No. I know what you're saying. I get it.
I would just hope we have someone other than Heath Bell that could have finished that off.
If it were a 2-run lead...there would have been no question.
But a three run lead…and the way we took it…I just would have at the very least started that half of the inning with one of the other guys down there.
I get what you're saying, too
Tough to watch a game like yesterday’s slip away due to those circumstances, but we’d have all had a fit if Bud decided to hold Heater off with the 3 run lead because he thought Geer would keep it close the next day.

Is better than holding back bell ‘just in case’ ;)

You always go for the win today
Because you have no way of knowing what will happen tomorrow.
Black could have saved Bell and brought in De La Cruz who was warming up before the Padres came back and if De La Cruz gives up the game, Black would be vilified.
Or Black could have held back Bell and saved him for Sunday and then had Sunday be a blow out or a rain out and would have wasted the chance to win Saturday’s game.
The simple fact is since none of us are omniscient, you win the game you are playing now and let tomorrow take care of itself.
Moreno had not given up an earned run in 6 appearances before Sunday’s game so he was a great choice to fill in for Bell in situations like this, he just gave up a bloop single and a home run to one of the best hitters in the game.
Yes the Padres lost, but it was still a great road trip and we got to see what these guys are made of.
Do you know what we get to do today? We get to talk baseball!

I dunno
He throws one inning a game….if we have a lead. Throws more in the bullpen warming up than he does during his one inning of work. Adrian and other guys are out there playing every inning of every game and can get hurt on any play. Bell’s job is to close! to throw one inning! Really? 3 days is too much for an ‘athlete’? Black should’ve thrown Bell. I hate how babied pitchers get.
Perez Hilton hates the Padres
I’m pretty sure “Perez” is an alias, and his real name is Phil.

…but he should have never called her a “dumb bitch”. Pot, meet Kettle.
Perez sucks anyway…Long live Tyler Durden!

Amen to wwtdd
i read the transcript and she didn’t say anything inherently offensive, this guy is all about self-promotion and creating drama for the sake of being controversial. you would think that douchebag would recognize that people are entitled to their own opinions and belief sets and that it is no individual’s place to judge another individuals beliefs. effing prick

Just throwing this out there, too
It’s not the way I feel, but the state did just have a vote, and what she believes is in line with the majority of the state she’s representing, not that this is some kind of government office or anything. I guess 52% of Cali is a stupid bitch, too?

i said nothing of politics or religion
i suggested that he lacked respect for other peoples choices, while expecting everyone to respect his own. i have no tolerance for ignorance and hypocrisy, and i really think padsquad carrie got a raw deal, even though she could have answered the question “more p.c.”.
and thanks for the heads up, but i know what not to bring up in here, especially when our padres are killing it so far

Deadspin
I was THIS close to winning my Miss USA office pool this year, but my choice to win it all, Miss California, choked like the Washington Nationals in the bottom of the ninth.
The Nationals don't have the lead in the 9th.

From Corey
It’s official, we’re banged. No game tonight. The makeup date is set for May 11, which was an off-day between a series in Houston and Chicago…..LAME! That sounds really fair. Make us fly to Philly for one game on a scheduled off day after a series in Houston and then fly immediately back to Chicago? F*@K Philly and their f*@king joke of a ballpark.
I want to thank the good Lord for making me a Philip Rivers fan.

and sounded like a crazy person.
Winfield goes back to the wall. He hits his head on the wall -- and it rolls off! It's rolling all the way back to second base! This is a terrible thing for the Padres. - Jerry Coleman
