Padres Links 4/1

  • DePodesta sounds psyched about the additions to Padres' Bullpen.  Edward Mujica in the house. "We still have a handful of days before Opening Day, so anything can happen, but with all of the recent additions we feel more comfortable with our pen than we did just a few weeks ago."
  • Let's do some Twitter links: Jenny Cavnar, Corey Brock, Ducksnorts and of course Gaslamp Ball, feel free follow us.
  • Tony Gwynn Interview (MP3) about the Padres: "I was looking at the website a couple of days ago and there's like nine guys with ERA's of 10 or higher"
  • Also Tony about Stephen Strasburg: "I have been around baseball a long time and I have yet to see a young guy do the things that Stephen has been able to do."
  • Corey Brock thinks he's got the Opening Day roster:
  • Catcher: Nick Hundley, Henry Blanco Infielders: Adrian Gonzalez, Edgar Gonzalez, David Eckstein, Evereth Cabrera, Luis Rodriguez, Kevin Kouzmanoff. Outfielders: Jody Gerut, Brian Giles, Chase Headley, Cliff Floyd, Scott Hairston. Rotation: Jake Peavy, Chris Young, Walter Silva, Kevin Correia, Shawn Hill. Bullpen: Heath Bell, Cla Meredith, Arturo Lopez, Edwin Moreno, Duaner Sanchez, Eulogio De La Cruz, Ed Mujica.
  • Krasovic gives his thoughts on the Opening Day Line up.
  • NC Times talks about Hill as the #5 starter
  • XX Sports Radio has an interview with Jeff Moorad and a Q and A.  Still can't get myself psyched up enough to listen to these.  Can somebody give us the Cliff notes?

Yeah, I wanted to do something similar

Mostly for my own benefit since I don’t know half the guys

do it

we need someone to break it down. I’m certainly not going to do that. I’ve barely watched spring training.

where's Baek in the starting 5?

I don’t mind that he’s not there, but I thought he was still a #3 “lock”. And I don’t know if any of you ever saw Shawn Hill pitch with Washington, but between his injuries and such I thought he was actually pretty good. Hopefully he’ll surprise us.

DODGERS, RED SOX, YANKEES, BRONCOS, PATRIOTS and RAIDERS all suck. Especially the Dodgers.
