I really need to remember to bring my portable radio. I've managed to forget it every day this week. I'm totally out of the loop. We've been getting a lot of email from other blogs asking questions about the Padres and I've pretty much had to tell them that we don't know anything about the Padres, yes it's gotten to that point. Worst bloggers ever.

That's the problem
He’s probably got the talent to play in the majors someday, but as of right now, he’s not ANYWHERE close. We have to have him suck up a roster spot the whole season to keep him. I guess if we’ve given up on the season before it starts we should keep him, but i’m not ready to give the season up yet.

I'd say
If he can field CONSISTENTLY and run, we could probably use him as a pinch runner / defensive replacement / sunday starter.
But, if he can’t even field consistently, there’s just nothin doin.

But, the next question is who’s spot would he take if he was to stay?
Probably Burke / Alfonzo ?
Does Cabrera have THAT much upside to justify ‘experimenting’ with him instead of using one of these more solid guys?
I’m guessing Edgar will make the team, plays lotsa positions and a great hitter.
