What the heck is an Eulogio de la Cruz? Sounds like something you do in a Catholic Church in Mexico City.

He's part of the Miguel Cabrera deal, and apparently he's a hard throwing right hander (which means for the Padres.....he hits 90, maybe).

I know we need pitchers but come on, this is what we find? Serious?

As far as the cash we have to spend...

this isn’t bad.

If he weren’t out of options I think the Marlin’s hold onto him. The fish just happen to have a crapload of young arms (24 is the avg age for their rotation, which has huge upside with Anibal Sanchez and Andrew Miller joining the solid 1-2 of Nolasco and Josh Johnson), and they didn’t have room for this guy on their 25 man.

Is this guy going to be awesome? Probably not. But this is a good pickup for us, since we have the luxury of not competing…which means we can see if this guy is any good.
