Padres sign Hill to Minor League deal
Right-hander in line to compete for final rotation spot.
Hill has a 7-15 record and a 4.93 ERA in 37 Major League starts with Montreal and the Nationals from 2004-2008. He was 1-5 with a 5.83 ERA in 12 starts with the Nationals last year.

It's unfortunate to think that he'll probably take the 5th spot
thus leaving Walter Silva out of luck. I really wanted to see if Silva had anything to offer during the regular season. Any chance Baek will go to long relief where he belongs?

Also, he seems to be a fan favorite in DC so I think he has some potential.
