Spring Training Game Thread: 3/18, Pads vs. Texas

I had something planned to say in this game thread, but I totally blanked and can't remember. I seem to remember it wasn't particularly good, but at least it was something.  I'll have to think about it.

Go Pads!

Corey Brock with line up and low down:

3B, Chris Burke
2B, David Eckstein
DH, Cliff Floyd
LF, Emil Brown
RF, Chris Snelling
1B, Kyle Blanks, possibly coming to an outfield near you?
CF, Will Venable
C, Nick Hundley
SS, Everth Cabrera
SP, Cesar Ramos (scheduled to go three innings), followed by Jae Kuk Ryu 2, Arturo Lopez 1, Edwin Moreno 1, Joe Thatcher 1 and Matt Buschmann 1.

I wonder

if Cabrera will actually get a hit this game.

Ramos, Carillo, Geer

Are all awful awful busts and should never pitch for us again. Jebus we have no friggin’ rotation to speak of.

Damn you no cussing club!!
Reliever Mark Worrell, expected to contend for a spot in the bullpen, is experiencing with right elbow soreness. Manager Bud Black said if the soreness persists, the team might have to put Worrell through some tests. At the very least, we won’t see him for several days.

We could go to a 4-man rotation...

…of course, you actually need four pitchers to do that. Forget it.

Ryu is another possibility

I though Silva was going to relieve Ramos today. Wonder what happened with that. Maybe they were counting on Jake being back soon and now he should be pitching in the WBC finals. So they moved Silva to a start to compensate.

would suck

to let the guy go, but to have to carry him for a whole year on the bench is a lousy thought.

but if the situation should arise that he needs to be called on I doubt he will say no.

I don't like

That we couldn’t stop a stolen base from David Murphy with a left pitcher and Hundley catching.
