Ay, lets put this to a vote

I say long live Samoas, which for some reason has been renamed Carmel deLites here…

Samoas are my favorite.

1-2-3 for CY

Hoping for a BIG year from him, will he finally toss a no-no this year?

vote samoas

Winfield goes back to the wall. He hits his head on the wall -- and it rolls off! It's rolling all the way back to second base! This is a terrible thing for the Padres. - Jerry Coleman

SAMOAS

showing their strength!!

Where are you thin minters? Have you not the courage to stand up for your cookies?

by TJB on Mar 13, 2009 1:21 PM PDT up reply actions

Dulce de Leche

GF bought some of those and they were tasty too. Thin Mints are good, but nothing matches the Samoas.

I'll stick up for thin mints

They are thin, of course, but strong on flavor. Very low-profile. Just looking at a cross-section of one, a person would never guess they are minty.

Fields Double off CY

at this rate, the next batter should be an out…

Then the next batter will run backwards to second base..

We got ours the other day and they're still Tagalongs and Samoas.

Maybe it’s a regional thing or something; they probably realized they had to dumb it down for SDSU grads.

I've already been to his first two.

I have tickets for tonight but I’m going to Big Bear, but my dad and my cousin, who are also both SDSU alums, are going instead.

Speaking of which.

Since I’m not going tonight, I’m probably going to need your help writing my column over at FederalBaseball.com. They gave me author status to do writeups on all of his starts but I’m going to miss this one. I have my dad and cousin taking pictures for me but I’ll need you for some analysis.

by TJB on Mar 13, 2009 1:58 PM PDT up reply actions

Any tips on seating etc?

I’ve never been to a game @ Gwynn Stadium, are all tickets one price?
How crowded does it get?

by TJB on Mar 13, 2009 1:59 PM PDT up reply actions

Tickets are free with Student ID

Otherwise I think they are $5 or $10. It is general admission except for the sections behind homeplate and behind the dugouts which is reserved for season ticket holders. The stadium should get pretty full for SS but I don’t think it will sell out. I usually sit on the thirdbase side above the Aztec dugout in the upper section because you get the best view of the pitcher’s mound from there.

If you didnt go you missed out.

Strausburg pitched 7 innings gave up 2 on 7 hits (I think) and had at least 13 K’s (I dont rember if I counting the ones he got in the 7th).

TG stadium was packed it was alot of fun.

by Grey Suit on Mar 13, 2009 8:56 PM PDT up reply actions

Pretty sweet game

even though there were a couple innings where Strasburg had to battle.
Those guys were not even close to catching up with his fastball though.

Maybe

Or maybe they figured the west virginians would get confused by the change and cause them to demand a refund and ask for the real cookies.

Except I got mine from Ohio.

You’ve got a pretty good point if you substitute “stupid effin’ Buckeyes” for “west virginians”.
