Around the Mission
- Myron over at Friar Forecast is doing a live chat right now. I am now a David Eckstein fan.
- Bench Coach Ted Simmons in his youth, kinda looks familiar. Does he look like Jakob Dylan? Or maybe Whitney's scrub boyfriend on The City?
- Moores thinks the sale of the Padres will close. "Even though the 2008 club suffered a stunning rash..." Gross.
- Bob "Scanman" Scanlan was interviewed (MP3) on XX Sports Radio. I haven't had a chance to listen yet, but when Scan speaks his voice is like a choir of angels.
- Hoffman may pitch against the Padres today. It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel nauseous.
- You can now subscribe to Padres Magazine. I can't wait to see the centerfielder as the centerfold.
- Venezuela beat the US in the WBC, in no small part because of Padre Henry Blanco. Why does he hate America?
- Ducksnorters have their crystal ball out and are making predictions about the upcoming season.

Heath Bell in all his glory……
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
jbox? really?
you watch THE CITY?
even im not that big of a girl
what's with the stunning rash?
and when are we ever going to hear about what those kids are doing at the DR facility? we are told they are sinking money into it and it’s supposed to be working out.. but when do we get some serious scouting reports from the DR… are any of these kids on fast tracks or is is going to take 7 years of bad luck before we see some returns?
mission accomplished.
Who cares?
I’d rather have one of those 16-year olds at shortstop than what we have now. Bring ’em up!! Screw the child labor laws!
"We're not going to be as bad as you think."

The Game is on right now.
I’m make a fanpost but the higher ups at SBNation want only the official ones to be done so I guess we’ll have to wait.
