Trevor Hoffman takes out a full page ad saying "Thank You"

via nbcsandiego.com

Typos are probably mine.

As I sat down and put pen to paper thinking about the best way to express my gratitude to the many people whom have had a profound effect on my time here in San Diego, a recurring theme kept coming up, just say THANKS!!

Thanks go out to my family, friends, teammates, managers, coaches, trainers, clubhouse personnel, medical staff, front office, members of the media,  Qualcomm & Petco employees and to you the fans young and old it is all of you who give this game life.  We've experienced extreme highs and lows it is this that makes the risk worth the reward.

Thank you for the 16 seasons to represent San Diego both on and off the field.

My family and I will cherish the memories

You're welcome.

OH, right

I forgot. Priorities!

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

We could put that in the ad-

solicit Brewers fans to pledge a certain amount that they’ll contribute to The Butt Fund® for every save he gets this year.

OR

Put his butt in the ad!

Should go great, while trying to emotionally tell Trevor Hoffman thanks for the great times oh hey there’s Dex’s butt!

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Thanks Trev

I’ll always remember Hell’s Bells as the ULTIMATE MLB experience with my sons. Nobody can take that away. Thanks again Trevor!

Was that in the Sunday paper?

If it was, its a $70k ad.

Do you know what we get to do today? We get to talk baseball!

Yeah, Sunday back-cover, 4-color, full page ads can run that high, but a one-off, Monday morning, black and white interior full-page ad, with camera-ready artwork wouldn’t be nearly as much, no matter what market you’re in.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Still living in blissful denial

It’s not real until Heater goes out there as the closer.

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

Did anybody notice

how the Hoffman family had a bulldog in the picture? A bulldog just like the bulldog John Moores out bid Trevor on to give to the Peavy family? A bulldog that the Peavy’s filed a police report on saying someone stole? Hmmmm….is this REALLY a thank you ad or is it a ransom?

by SDPads_1 on Feb 23, 2009 12:37 PM PST reply actions   1 recs

I noticed that too

I thought it was more like, “We got our own damn bulldog! In yo’ FACE, Moores!”

Could be worse... could be the offseason.

Nice touch Trev, but I wonder what your letter to

Moores said?

His Deep Thoughts

Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I’ll go over to the persons house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I’m gone, but you know what I’ve left on the porch? A jack-o-lantern with a knife stuck in the side of it’s head with a note that says “You.” After that I usually feel a lot better, and no harm done.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Unbelievable. Your little piccy matches your statement…

I saved it

Love that man. Gonna miss him. Hells Bells is something that Alex and I will never forget seeing together many times for sure. Especially the record tying and breaking saves. Sniffle.

On Ch. 4 now!

If anyone would like to watch save #479, they are showing that game on Ch 4 right now.
