During the Chargers/Chiefs game...
…he called him Tim McGraw instead of Jon and his butchering of Malamaleuna was the most entertaining yet. I for one can’t wait for this to start!
*Manumaleuna
"I'm a Padre at heart. Always gonna root for the Padres. Twenty-five years [with this organization], how can't you? Next year I'm gonna be rooting like a son-of-a-gun for these guys and for Blackie ... I'm gonna be rooting for the next general manager here, rooting for the city, the fans, everybody. I think a lot of San Diego." -Kevin Towers

Seriously
how do you come across a video like that?

Thank God!
It’s about time baseball put some old white men in front of the camera! I’m sick of seeing youth and energy when I tune into a Padres game. Nothing gets kids interested in a subject more than an old man talking about it.

Not really
Pretty amateur stuff there. A fan post that should have been a fan shot and the link is in plain text instead of hyperlinked. I’m embarrassed for you. LOL.

Wow. . .
way to welcome a sure hall of fame broadcaster to the fold. Complain all you want, but Neely personifies bland, and the Enberg signing will be far and away the Padres’ best off season move.

Oh come on, he was far from terrible.
He didn’t make mistakes on air and he didn’t allow too much silence on air like Matt did (I still have vivid memories of hearing nothing but the whistle of Mud’s nose as he breathed in and out late in games). I’m not his biggest fan because I prefer more…lively announcers, but I’ve heard far more boring guys on air than him.
neither did Adrian Gonzalez
whoops, I may be jumping the gun a bit…

Father Time's in the booth!
I really hope he’s better in a slower game like baseball than he is with football – I don’t know if it’s a visual thing or he’s just losing his touch but his football broadcasts are a mess – Fouts has been carrying his calls for the last 2-3 seasons and while his voice is smooth like ballpark nacho cheese sauce the accuracy leaves quite a bit to be desired.
It’s one thing if you have a guy like Harry Caray or Jerry Coleman where you’re willing to let the verbal and visual faux pas slide due to history with their respective team**, but to bring someone in who has called 10 seasons of baseball in his life, the last being 24 years ago, it’s a clear desperation attempt for a ratings boost.
**I left Scully out of that list because, whenever I watch/listen to a Dodger broadcast, I don’t hear Scully sound like he’s lost even a half step.
I’d also like the Padres to bring back Archi Cianfrocco just to have Dick juggle that name around for a few innings.

Wow
Couldn’t they find somebody who is still living?

Everybody moves down a chair
If Neely is the backup that means no more Steve Quis play by play.
I hope Mudcat grows a Foutsian beard.

Enberg
Would it be too much to ask to get Enberg and Jerry Coleman do just one game together? Just one?
Please???

Would have to be on radio
Jerry doesn’t do TV anymore.

Yeah, I know...
But what could be more entertaining than those two trying to get through an entire game? Just the two of them?
Then just hit the reply button
It’s not that hard and then you don’t have to explain.
Thank you for waving at me.

It's going to be a total disaster.
An Enberg, Grant and Gwynn booth is also going to a car wreck.

At least it will be entertaining

Personally,
I can’t wait to hear promos for “Dick ’n Mark” (say it quickly) on Channel 4. Takes it to a whole new level.
