Why would you sign Cameron to play left?

I don’t doubt that’s what they’ve done, but it seems like a waste for one of the best outfield defenders in baseball, and a guy who doesn’t seem to have the power to play corner outfield.

Optimum usage

Cameron to CF, Ellsbury to LF. Cameron’s offense+defense > Jason Bay. They may sit Cameron against tough righties and put Hermida in LF and Ellsbury goes to CF.
