Around the Mission: 11/3 Padres Links
How do you like the new look of the site? It's a risque, no?
In any case there aren't many Padres links today. I'm still irked that I missed the second half of the MLB Network show "Triumph and Tragedy: 1984 Padres". I remembered to set up my DVR and when I went to watch the MLB Network cut in to give updates on the stupid World Series. Now I'll never know how it ends! I don't see it in the network schedule for the rest of the month, but if anybody sees it let me know.

I watched "Triumph and Tragedy" last night
Overall, it was a pretty well-done documentary. If anything it seemed too short; it would have been good for two hours, at least. I enjoyed the Pascual Perez multiple beanbrawl game with the Braves.
The ending line by Jerry Coleman was a bit hyperbolic, saying something like “the 1984 Padres were what life is all about” (I forgot the exact quote and already erased it from my DVR) and he seemed to tear up a bit.
Happy 100th

Gaslampball looks all weird and stupid. Why the face lift? Ugly.
This blog has devolved into UT like, uncerebral blabber

Well,
now the top banner ad doesn’t pop-out over the login box. That’s a plus.

Uncommon Sportsman :: Absurdity in play
It's ugly and I hate it.
I’m usually okay with sites getting new looks (Facebook, ESPN, the last SB nation look) but this is one I just can’t stand. Way too much white.
It is the final frontier...
and clear borders just fragment the fan base.

They managed to make the site look older instead of more modern.
I also like how the comment box was tinyified.

See how easy that was UT?
GLB redesigned the site without crazy outages and things like links actually work.
From an ad blocking perspective, it looks much better. ABP would result in some wild layouts with the old site, this one is cleaner and simpler.
That said, i think it can be improved.
