Clay Kirby of the Padres wearing rare 1972 cap with large front yellow panel.
via Uni Watch:
"Can anyone else confirm or refute the Sunday protocol? Does anyone know of any other MLB cap designs that featured wide-span front panels? And did the change in the front panel from ’72 to ’73 reflect a change in cap manufacturers? All subjects for further study."

But how much of a fashion accessory is it?
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

Just ask yourself:
“Would Ron Artest wear this?”
"I'm a Padre at heart. Always gonna root for the Padres. Twenty-five years [with this organization], how can't you? Next year I'm gonna be rooting like a son-of-a-gun for these guys and for Blackie ... I'm gonna be rooting for the next general manager here, rooting for the city, the fans, everybody. I think a lot of San Diego." -Kevin Towers

I want this hat!
This is a terrible thing for the Padres. - Jerry Coleman

If NewEra made a Padres cap following this concept today
I think it would look real good. Hat technology is much better these days. The ones on Zimm and ClayK don’t look that good. But, I like the concept.
