Red Sox assistant general manager Jed Hoyer has been chosen the next general manager of the Padres, a club source told MLB.com on Saturday.

Hoyer, 35, clearly is among the new generation of young general managers who put a great deal of stock in statistics and quantitative analysis, but he's also said to place an equal emphasis on scouting.

at first I'll be like

“alright, Hoyer got a sweet deal”, and then I’ll be like, “damn it, Towers robbed us!” basically the opposite of how I felt about every KT deal

Hmmm...
