very happy to hear this...
“Though Hoyer’s background is in quantitative analysis, he has become more schooled in the ways of Major League transactions, contracts, scouting and player development, essentially making him the hybrid candidate who can balance statistical analysis with a scouting background.” from the Padres.com arcticle
I look forward to how he makes his moves… what will happen this offseason?
mission accomplished.

How nervous will Padres fans be when he makes his first trade with Towers?

at first I'll be like
“alright, Hoyer got a sweet deal”, and then I’ll be like, “damn it, Towers robbed us!” basically the opposite of how I felt about every KT deal

Don't worry.
He’ll get scapegoated around the All Star Break next year like they always are.
We're boned.

Hmmm...
Is there anyone left in the front office to continue that tradition? They might just fire to make room for less of a gunslinger though. You know, a more strategic hitting coach?
