Kouzmanoff owns hot corner - SignOnSanDiego.com

Friar John's Blog: Kouzmanoff's glove goes to Hall of Fame
Kouzmanoff was in a generous mood Tuesday. He also offered up the bat he used in 2006 with the Indians to hit a grand slam on the first Major League pitch he saw -- becoming the first player to accomplish the feat on his first pitch. "It's just sitting in my house," Kouzmanoff told Idelson. "You can have it." Said Idelson: "We'll talk." -

Masur's Musings: More Padres Roster Moves...
Not much in the way of surprises here...thought Macias had an outside chance at sticking at least on the 40 man roster. He has pretty good speed, a little pop in his bat and is a good defender. -
Padres send four off 40-man roster | padres.com: News
With the moves, the Padres have four open spots on the 40-man roster. Two spots will be filled when pitchers Mark Worrell and Chris Young are reinstated from the 60-day disabled list. -

MVP: David Eckstein. Sure, it doesn't look like it in the numbers, but his value to the team this year was unmeasurable. -
Perpetual Padres Saga: So far so good
He's [Drew Macias] a gorgeous guy but his average was way too low and lacked in almost all categories that involve a bat and a glove.

MVP: David Eckstein. Sure, it doesn’t look like it in the numbers, but his value to the team this year was unmeasurable. HONORABLE MENTION: Adrian Gonzalez (40 home runs and 99 RBIs)
Re-read that again, and join me in the Land of Bewilderment.

Whatever
The team lost more games than it won. I’m not going to trouble myself too much with the thought of who was most valuable in that effort.

Nor am I
But I just love the intangibles vs. stats conflict taken to its most extreme, absurd level. Where a replaceable second baseman who slugs .313 is “more valuable” than the guy with the 40 homers and 99 RBI.

You guys do realize
that a 16 year old girl wrote that right? Are you going to get together to kick some puppies after you are done criticizing her selections for Padre awards?

I think my comment carried a tone of indifference
Much the same tone I would give to the opinions of a 16 year old. So I’m good.

I was more bewildered by this:
RELIEVER OF THE YEAR
HONORABLE MENTION: Greg Burke
"I'm a Padre at heart. Always gonna root for the Padres. Twenty-five years [with this organization], how can't you? Next year I'm gonna be rooting like a son-of-a-gun for these guys and for Blackie ... I'm gonna be rooting for the next general manager here, rooting for the city, the fans, everybody. I think a lot of San Diego." -Kevin Towers

"I don't want to be seen just as a defensive third baseman," Kouzmanoff said.
Don’t worry. You are not known as anything.

I'm not just a glove you know ...
laughable isn’t it ? “I don’t want to be seen just as a defensive third baseman,” Kouzmanoff said.
Dear God, I am counting the days for this ‘out machine’ to be off this roster.
