Went to a couple of hundred games at Dodger Stadium

when I was younger. Once we had kids we couldnt go any longer, because it was like this every night, almost anywhere you sat, regardless of what t-shirt you were wearing.

I'm tired of next year. Win now!

Is it me

or is everyone wearing Dodger stuff in this video 300 pounds?

How did the Cardinals chick wind up at the bottom of the stairs? Did the guy push her or what? It kind of reminded me of the Brian Giles video.

This makes me sick to my stomach

How can there be an entire fanbase (and everyone is included, because if you’re not like them you don’t seem to want to take initiative and make a differance) that can be so stupid? There aren’t many adjectives, just stupid. L.A. is a shithole, solely because of the people.

can I quote you in my sig?

DODGERS, RED SOX, YANKEES, BRONCOS, PATRIOTS and RAIDERS all suck. Especially the Dodgers.

Just Curious

As somebody from LA who, apparently, condones this type of action, I would like to know what the fans should have done.

A) Stood up to belligerently drunk guys who were obviously itching for a fight and were probably bigger than anybody else there.

or

B) Let security take care of it.

Sub-question:

If other Dodger fans had gotten involved, would you not have just let those people getting involved anger you more as “Angry Dodger fans who hate humanity shouldn’t get in fights but let security take care of it?”

I’m also sure that when I saw a Padre fan similarly try to pour a beer on my dad I should immediately judge all Padre fans as being stupid and part of a “shithole” city because all people in the stadium condoned his action when he did that because they didn’t do anything about it.

Honestly, if you’re going to judge an entire city by its drunk people, then you might as well get used to the fact that every city sucks. Even San Diego has bums. Yes, I live down here. Even San Diego has drunk people that get into fights and walk out into the middle of the street because they have no idea where they are anymore. Your city isn’t perfect, and before you say I’m saying Los Angeles is perfect, I know that it’s far off the mark in that respect.

But show other fans some respect. There are many people in LA that were raised to love the Dodgers despite some idiot fans, just as any fan of any team does. Are we supposed to change our allegiance to another team just because of some cholo who can’t hold his liquor? Or are we supposed to get in a fight with him and just reinforce your already bigoted image of every Dodger fan?

You know, I love visiting all these baseball blogs and getting informed opinions here. I stop by GB and learn things that I never would have known and I enjoy it. I’ve also never participated on an SB Nation blog before, but this actually infuriated me. I hope that you can realize the “differance” is not that all Dodger fans are stupid, but that all teams have stupid fans.

I wanna know why

the Padre fan tried to pour beer on your dad.

"I'm a Padre at heart. Always gonna root for the Padres. Twenty-five years [with this organization], how can't you? Next year I'm gonna be rooting like a son-of-a-gun for these guys and for Blackie ... I'm gonna be rooting for the next general manager here, rooting for the city, the fans, everybody. I think a lot of San Diego." -Kevin Towers

Do this for me.

Just for fun, go to the bleachers in a Giants uniform for that series. Seriously do it. If you survive feel free to come back here and tell us about your experiences. If you don’t feel threatened during your adventure I will be the first to apologize to you. I have a feeling that you might start to understand where were coming from though.

There is a difference between random drunk fans and people threating your life.

To reply to both of you:

jodes0405: He was honestly piss drunk. That was my point, he was just being an idiot and I really have no reason to blame any other Padre fan for him being an idiot.

soulSD:
Oh, I know. Believe me, I don’t approve of it at all. This video enraged me more than anything else and it makes me sad that they think that being a fan of any team gives them the right to be an absolute ass wizard to anybody. Nobody deserves to have beer thrown at them or be shoved down any stairs, and if you look at the faces of the people around there they’re all just as ashamed to be associated with people like that, but they’re also afraid to get involved.

I’ve been in the bleachers at a Dodgers-Giants game where people were wearing Giants gear, and as much as the Dodger fan in me hates the Giants, taking it out on their fans the way people in the bleachers do is absolutely classless, threatening, and all around shitty. I’m as disgusted as the next person that ANYBODY would act that way, but once again, getting in the way or getting involved is just asking for more trouble.

So please, don’t judge me or other people that are Dodger fans based on these people. I know that there is more than likely a bigger percentage of all around dickishness going on in the cheap seats at Dodger Stadium than any other sporting event around. Don’t doubt that this brings me shame, I would rather not EVER be associated with these people, but don’t mistake me being a fan of the team for me being a fan of that behavior.

Sack up
but they’re also afraid to get involved.
getting in the way or getting involved is just asking for more trouble.

That attitude right there is why you are associated with them. You’re a mafia wife.

You should try doing the right thing once in awhile, you might be surprised.

Alright

Next time I’ll be sure to punch the next Padre fan that tries to pour beer on my dad too.

I’m sure you’ll understand.

I’d love to see you stand up to a pack of drunk people when they’re itching for a fight too. Or maybe you’re already done that. You’re truly a hero.

Use portable Apps!

I use it at work because I can’t install Firefox here. I have it on a thumbdrive at works and is great. GIMP has a version for it too.

Thanks Dodger Dude

You really cleared my mind. I no longer think of Dodger fans as drunken minorities picking fights out of ignorance, rather, as drunken, minorities upstanding citizens picking fights out of ignorance.

You won't be mean

but you won’t condone the violence either. Besides, I’m Mexican-American and I still think those Dodger fans are idiots. I agree with that post on Craig’s list. Unnecessary violence makes us Mexican-Americans as a group look bad.

What made me most ill...

Is when the camera swung around and there is that little girl sitting on her Mom’s lap. She had to see and hear the WHOLE thing from start to finish. If I were a Mom, sitting with my child, and food and people and fists starting flying all around us, I would move myself and my child out of the way.

And the dumbasses around there are just cussing up a BLUE streak and making stupid songs out of it. “F’ing LA, blah, blah, blah, blah…”

That is not pride, that is pathetic.

A homogeneous crowd through intimidation

Padre fans know not to go to LA (I’ve learned my lesson through personal experience). But it would be a humanitarian service for the MLB to inform the rest of the country about the dangers of going to Chaves. They only want LA fans in LA. So be it. I’ll be damned if they get one cent from me ever again. And when their stadium turns into an extension of the 3rd world neighborhoods that surround it, they will only have themselves to blame. Maybe when they don’t have outsiders to direct their ingrained violent tendencies at, they will turn back into the gangsters they are and just go back to stabbing each other.

In response to Dodger Dude, and in defense of my fellow Padre fans who have had to deal with this crap, even in our own stadium, all I have to say is that there is a difference between being a racist and calling a spade a spade. Nobody is suggesting that nationality is reason for your fans behavior, but rather the glorified gangster attitude your city has adopted and fostered.

That is why I will not attend a game there.

I fear for my life. I didn’t get that feeling when I went to an Anaheim v. Padres game this year, it was fun. I rarely see fighting against other fans when I went to watch Padres games at San Diego. It only happens at LA.

Dodgers Stadium

is a joke. Seriously, this is what I hate about Dodgers fans and ultimately why I like to see the team fail. It’s straight thug life at these games. As for the MLB informing others about this place, I feel like they would except it would be a publicity nightmare for the league. I’ve been to a fair amount of the MLB ballparks and the Ravine is the only one I’ve consistently had problems with.
