Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

more proof the bleacher bums are idiots

highlights from Jordan Downtown's rant today on Trevor Hoffman:

  • Trevor only went to Milwaukee for the money. He repeatedly said that if a team from China had offered him a dollar more he would go play there.
  • Trevor owed the fans "a discount" because he had bad numbers next season.
  • He will boo Trevor next season and would be ok if he never saved another game in his life.
  • He is no Tony Gwynn, who stuck with the team because he wanted to be a part of the community.
  • Trevor isn't a part of the community unless you live in Rancho Santa Fe. Just because Trevor "hands out a few turkeys at Thanksgiving" doesn't mean he should be made a saint. Multiple incoherent Mother Teresa references.
  • He enjoyed going to Padres games because he liked hearing Hells Bells.
  • Padres fans should be upset because Trevor owed us something.
  • Some callers tried to call him out and disagree but most praised him and then went off-topic.
Also ATL Earl commented on how he was surprised "they (I don't remember exactly who)" fingerprinted a white guy (maybe Trevor, I don't know), because he thought "they only fingerprinted the brothas." When a caller tried to call him out for being somewhat racist Earl cut him off. The same caller also said that the country must be in a recession if the two of them got hired. This was the highlight of the show.

train wreck

i didn’t hear them today,i guess thank goodness, but they are that awful car wreck that you have to look at. maybe thats the plan, people will tune in to see how incredibly stupid they can be

I was actually listening at the same time

replace “fingerprint” with “background check”. The Dodgers did a background check on Trevor and Earl was trying to make a joke about only “brothers” get background checks.

Also Jordan has only been here six years but is die hard. I don’t believe it. The Padres are his second team while he lives here, you know that dude is a Yankees fan.

Yeah unfortunately

I was getting into my truck at that exact time and it was on 1090. I tried listening for a bit but for some reason my truck wanted to keep veering into oncoming traffic so I finally changed it. I agree jbox I bet Jordan is a Yankees fan and Earl is a Braves fan.

I just read on a website that Mark Larsen and Stacy Taylor were fired over at 1700 as well and now they just play CNN news on 1700. Wow BCA is not looking good. I’m surprised I didn’t get a shot at a politics show. I mean I know very little about it and have never been in radio…….so I sound perfect for the job right?

the hometown ties are probably true

wonder how earl feels about smoltz leaving for boston… it was kind of a similar situation to the padre/hoffman ordeal (minus the publicity, i think).

mission accomplished.

I actually kind of like his rant

I didn’t agree with a word he said, but it was passionate and controversial. If you’re trying to get people to call in, this was a good way to stir up emotions. I had no problem with this part of the show.

1-10-DEN 18 (9:52) (Shotgun) 6-J.Cutler pass short right intended for 19-E.Royal INTERCEPTED by 93-L.Castillo (95-S.Phillips) at DEN 18. 93-L.Castillo to DEN 14 for 4 yards (62-C.Wiegmann). 6-J.Cutler pouts ob to DEN 25 for 11 yards.

I hate to admit it

but I almost called in to agree with him. He kind of sounded like he was reading some of my posts on GLB. But the constant screaming turned me off so I chose not to.

I've also noticed

That the overall IQ level of the callers has dropped a few hundred points. I jut hope that with the return of the Padres BP show that they’ll get bumped to a 2AM-4AM slot.
I miss the coach being on during the day as well.
