"I like Ced a lot," Towers said. "He reminds me of (former Twins and Cubs regular) Jacque Jones, with better on-base percentage." Notes Asked if the Padres have interest in center fielder Andruw Jones, Towers said "probably not." In return for a restructured contract that frees up money for 2009, the Dodgers are granting Jones free agency.

How the mighty have fallen
How does a player fall so fast, so quick, like Andruw Jones? I think any team wouldn’t be bad off offering Andruw a spring-training invite, for the $400,000 minimum if he makes it, because the Dodgers still have to eat the remainder of the around $22mil he’s owed.
Besides, think of the irony if the Padres sign Jones, who yeah sure, asking him to go back to 2005 is wishful thinking, but finds his swing partially, hits 25 homers and drives in 90, with his atypical .265 average. Especially if he responds well against the Dodgers, and gets several game-changing hits against the team that has to pay him boatloads.
Doesn’t Andruw Jones still hold the record for longest homer (453 ft.) at PETCO?
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
