Somebody let Rickey play in the WBC
This is what I love about Rickey, he didn't try to leave the game in his prime, he's trying to play forever. Rickey said if a GM needs him he'll be there.
"but if a club came out and said they needed a left fielder, they needed a guy to get on base and steal a few bases, they can always ring my phone and I'll come on down and help their ballclub, that's how much I love the game."
Oh and he wouldn't just play, he'd be the best base stealer in the game.
"I believe today, and people say I'm crazy, but if you gave me as many at-bats that you would give the runners out there today, I would out-steal every last one of them," Henderson said with typical bravado.
Rickey got specific, noting, "I can go out and steal as many bases as [Jose] Reyes steals." Reyes stole 56 bases last year.
Henderson was asked if he would play in the World Baseball Classic. This is a brilliant idea, but Bob Watson poo poo'd it.
Henderson said he would love to play in the World Baseball Classic for Team USA. If Bernie Williams can come back, why not Rickey?
"What is [the WBC], wrestling?" Rickey said when asked if he would like to play in the WBC. Told it was the World Baseball Classic and games will be played in March, Rickey said, "Can I get in?"
If it were up to me, Rickey, he'd be batting leadoff, but Bob Watson, who is in charge of the team, said, "We're taking active players. We hope nothing but the best for Rickey, but he's going to have to sit this one out."

“What is [the WBC], wrestling?” Rickey said …
Every day, I fall in love with Rickey Henderson again.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
Hehe
Then, “What, now? You kids playin’ some baseball? Lemme get in on that.”
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔
Uncommon Sportsman :: Absurdity in play
I seriously don't know
why a team that’s totally out of contention wouldn’t pick up Rickey…fans would show up just to watch a HOF’er and there’d be increased media attention to see if he’d really steal all those bases.
Then again, that team would probably lose a lot of serious credibility (if they had it to begin with).
I’d vote for Seattle, Texas, Florida, Washington and Baltimore as teams that should consider him.
Don't hate the game, hate the nerds!
what about the Padres?

tried out in Orioles camp after he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. It didn’t work out. But I’ve heard worse ideas.
Rickey gets on.
