You know why I think Rickey will get in the Hall of Fame.....

because Rickey gets on.

Greatest Padre comercial of all time.

I don't understand the Rice thing.

Not saying he should be or shouldn’t be a HOFer but I’ve always wondered how somebody is a more deserving candidate than they were the previous (or previous 14) years.

He's in

BTW, for those who get the “Friarwire”, doesn’t that pic of Rickey in the Padres uniform look fake?

Rice is in too

Can’t wait for both of their speeches.

Don't hate the game, hate the nerds!

haha

tell me how Jay Bell and Jesse Orossco each got votes but our boy Greg Vaughn didn’t get a single vote?

You're telling me

Jesse Orosco’s contributions to the Padres were equal to that of Greg Vaughns?

by SDPads_1 on Jan 12, 2009 11:53 AM PST up reply actions

Absoultely.

I also value “Innings Pitched” over “Home Runs” by roughly a 3-1 margin.

Bye bye

Mark Grace, David Cone, Matt Williams, Mo Vaughn, Jay Bell, Jesse Orosco, Ron Gant, Greg Vaughn & Dan Plesac…..they are now officially off the ballots because they didn’t get 5%.

Here is a list of all the players I could find that will be eligible next year which has 4 former Padres….

Roberto Alomar, Kevin Appier, Andy Ashby, Ellis Burks, Andres Galarraga, Pat Hentgen, Mike Jackson, Eric Karros, Ray Lankford, Barry Larkin, Edgar Martinez, Fred McGriff, Shane Reynolds, Robin Ventura, and Todd Zeile.

Alomar & Larkin have a shot but definitely not in the first year. Edgar should be interesting how it plays out because of the whole DH thing. McGriff & Galarraga might have shots too eventually in year 15 like Rice though.

Ron Gant was my favorite player for something like 10 years.

seeing him in a padres uniform made my heart smile, even though it was for like 13 minutes.

Alomar and Larkin get in

Some interesting debates over Martinez and McGriff are forthcoming,

1-10-DEN 18 (9:52) (Shotgun) 6-J.Cutler pass short right intended for 19-E.Royal INTERCEPTED by 93-L.Castillo (95-S.Phillips) at DEN 18. 93-L.Castillo to DEN 14 for 4 yards (62-C.Wiegmann). 6-J.Cutler pouts ob to DEN 25 for 11 yards.

Sweeeet.

This just means we’re going to get the greatest induction ceremony speech of all time this year instead of in a future year.

We should make it a drinking game

whenever Rickey says “Rickey” you take a drink.

Three minutes?

You think Rickey’s not going to refer to himself more? He’s got five years of inactivity to refresh the world on.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
