Open Thread, 9/7: Padres vs Brewers
San Diego Padres at Milwaukee Brewers, Sep 7, 2008 11:05 AM PDT
The Cubs must be hating the fact that the Brewers get to play the Padres for 4 games, which makes me happy.
Go Padres!!

Whats going on here?
This is the first time, this year, that I have been excited watching a padres game.

Why don't they turn them off and let us see night

?!
where is everybody!? WE ARE WINNING RIGHT NOW.
It's funny
when the Padres are winning, nobody wants to talk about it. :)

Dex throws around the word "ban" quite a bit
I wish he would use it on you every time you do this.

Wouldn’t it be ironic that a piece of history happens and everyone was watching football?

21 in a row. Announcers say C.Y. has never had a complete game.

i love how quis says first 21 batters
it just sounds funny
"i kinda feel like nevin and klesko were some fling we (the padres) had in the past and now realize were a bad idea and are embarrassed about."
I really do love how he's saying that!
I mean, maybe around the 9th you get to the point where you can say it… but man, this is brutal. I’m biting fingernails here.

Getting nervous!
I watched the last time Chris Young almost threw the no-hitter. I fell to the floor in disappointment when they broke up the no-no.

SHUT THE FUCK UP Tony
My god
Nobody loves Tony Gwynn like I did, I flew out there for his HOF induction, but shut you fat fucking mout@IHT!#$%*&(!#$&!#$

I kinda like that Tony’s taing about it. It’s not like they have he game on TV in the dugout. And C.Y. talked to someone in the dugout.

Nice to see the applause for CY
Those fans remaining in MIL definitely have my respect.

Great job Chris
It’s still baseball season, dammit! Great effort by CY, what a win for the team. And nothing anyone in the broadcast booth said had anything to do with CY grooving one to Gabe Kapler. What a game for the hitters and for Chris, well deserved win for all involved. Go Pads!!!
Padres for life
it was a good game
I have always felt CY would be the first to throw a no hitter for the Padres. Hopefully next time. We still have two great starters to build a team around. Again I am going to place blame for this season on Bud Black. A team needs a spark, Black is asleep.
Congratulations Chris Young.

That was really great.
