Open Thread, 9/6: Padres vs Brewers
San Diego Padres at Milwaukee Brewers, Sep 6, 2008 4:05 PM PDT
I was just thinking about the old Baseball Stars game for the NES. You could have girls on your team. I'd always try to have at least one girl on my team and have her be a pitcher. I figured that every fifth day, it would be nice to have some eye candy on the mound and maybe confuse the batters a little bit with her funky arm motion.
Back before all the fancy ass graphics kids got now with their PlayStation 360s, we would have to use our imaginations even while we played video games. Now the girl baseball players in video games are all boobies and artificial intelligence and kids don't have to imagine anything because they can see it in 1080i.
GO PADRES!!!

Well, that part was okay
It was the next two games that weren’t so great.
They sent us to that play-in game with the Crocks.
BTW, Holliday still hasn’t touched homeplate.

The whole
thing surrounding that call at home bugs me. They completely swept it under the rug. To this day i cant find any video of that play. We got royally screwed and we didn’t even try and protest it.

I hooked up my accelerator pedal in my car to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

For a play that important, in a game that important
It should have been scrutinized, protested and everything else possible.
There was so many questionable parts of that play and call. HIGHLY questionable.

I hate to beat a dead horse
again and again. But that is quite possibly the biggest blown call in MLB history. Strong claim i know but i can even think of one that come close in terms of impact. MLB hates us.
ANYWAY, go aztecs!

Call it the curse of Matty V...
Because if Vas hadn’t guaranteed a SDSU victory over Notre Dame during the Padres broadcast earlier this week, I’m confident the team would have came away with a win today. I’m a very sad Aztec today…
Paul Lo Duca is MLB's Pablo Escobar..
C'mon Eastbay
Let’s be civil. I know there’s lots of fellow Aztecs that post here as well, and I’m just expressing a little frustration on SDSU’s missed opportunity today to make ammends for that loss to Cal Poly SLO last week. I’m cheering on the Padres against the Brew Crew today, amigo.

That's amiga. I am also an Aztec alumni
But I cant blame this loss on Matty V.
I’m hurtin here. Spazs were winning most of the game. They looked good.
Suddenly, turn of events starting with the fumble in the Aztec endzone in the 3rd Q methinks.

Ooops!
Sorry about that, chica! I totally agree that it was the goal-line fumble that took away the wind from the Padres sails this afternoon. My fellow alumni were blaming the outcome on some shady officiating, and that pass interference call to keep the Notre Dame drive going was kinda iffy I believe. But you can’t blame this loss on the officials and, you’re right, it’s not Matt Vas’es fault either.
The silver lining is that I have been VERY impressed by Ryan Lindley’s efforts so far this year.

TOTALLY favoring ND. Where was the intentional grounding call early in the game??
