"It bothers me a lot that I have come to the point where it is clear that I need to move on," Joyner said Monday afternoon. "I came to the job hoping to put my experience and ideas to good use in teaching and coaching the Padres' hitters, but it has become obvious to me in the past few months that the organization’s approach is different from mine."

Wow
I guess I can delete that draft I wrote back in April about firing Wally…
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?
Max Venable, maybe?

I like this idea
His kid seems to be a good hitter
"...do hereby declare that I am not a member of the Human race (not an earthling) and in fact am an alien from another planet other than earth. I hope that this will prove to the person that is putting electric shocks to my head that I am an alien. I am declaring this so that I am not in any violation of any world or international laws of the earth as I am showing by this admission that I am in fact an alien."
We'd be asking him to coach, not donate sperm

This is so weird
Why tender your resignation now? You can’t wait a week to finish the season? How the hell does quitting one week early do anyone any good? What the hell IS that? NO ONE in this organization has done a good job this year in ANY position, but I don’t see anyone else diving off this big flaming hunk of crap called the Padres.
You suck, Wally. Good riddance.
I hate this team.
