I asked questions because I was bored, and I crunched out some ##s

If you have a 4-cyl, and a 2007-current model, it’s assuming you’re getting 25 mpg highway. It’s roughly 2,850 miles from SD to NY, and a rough average of fuel costs ($4.25/gal), you’d be filling up almost 40 times . . . bottom line, you’re looking closer to $500 in fuel alone.

Not including food, shelter, rest stop sexual favors, New Orleans hookers, and blow.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

by royhobbs on Sep 17, 2008 1:50 PM PDT up reply actions

Filling up around 8 times not 40 times :D

40 times would be like 14,000 miles. Plus I have the 6 cyl which is 21 highway and gas is cheaper these days, under 4

Can we calculate the Strasburg magic number?

if you add up the number of padre losses or nationals wins to clinch? this seems to difficult, nevermind.

How do we calculate

what number we need to secure the very bottom? And what do we call it?

I tried to do it before, but math escapes me.

by Axion on Sep 17, 2008 2:46 PM PDT up reply actions

jinx!!!

It’s the number of combined padre losses and the other teams wins. Like if we was going fowards, any number of comined dodger wins and dbag losses for the dodgers to clinch is 8

Strasburg Number

Take the remaining games (maximum number of losses): 9 (for a total of 104)
Add to the number of wins the opponent needs to finish with less losses.
Washington: 1 win maxes them out a 103 losses.
Seattle: 2 wins max them out at 103 losses.

Strasburg number to beat Washington: 10 (9+1)
Strasburg number to beat Seattle: 11 (9+2)

Any time SD loses, subtract.
Any time Was/Sea wins, subtract.
