Another Padres Loss. Lincecum gets his first complete game on 86 pitches, strikes out twelve, and only gave up two hits before the ninth. The game was over in the 1st after CY threw an offspeed pitch to noted Padre nemesis, the portly Molina. As he crossed home plate, my dad asked me if we should leave yet. I told him we should stay until after Lincecum strikes out ten Padres. In the top of the 7th, Nate Schierholtz fouled a ball back that hit Pablo Sandoval, who was nowhere near the on-deck circle, right in the fat. I burst out laughing before I could help myself.
If you clicked that first link, you may have noticed that SoS only watches 8 innings.
Raymond is feelin' the Payne, and wouldn't you know it, we're back to being short on outfielders.
Kooz got hit by a pitch last night, tied Gene Tenace's single season nailed record from 1977 of 13 clunks.
KRod sets the new single season save record.
Optimist Island: CY was good and went 7 innings, striking out 9. Giles did his thing.
Pessimist Peninsula: Zero runs scored. Adrian struck out three times for the third time against Lincecum. 12th time being shut out.
Strasburg News: Everyone loses, holding pattern. I think our Embarranation Number is 12.
Today it's Baek vs. Zito, but if you're wondering where everyone is today, it's San Diego at Denver. Last time here, the Friar made Zito look like a pitcher again, but Baek also figured out how to win at PETCO. Sunday Day Game: 1:05PM PT. Camo jerseys GO!
