The Padres played absolutely terrible last night. Look forward to more of the same tonight. Fortunately for us, a friend of ours is in town and we are celebrating his birthday during game time.

usually consists of the second and third stringers, correct? Or do they allow the starters any playing time? I haven’t been to a preseason in a long time.

My understanding is
that the pre-season “teams” they field have absolutely no relation to the team that will actually play. it’s part of why I don’t understand the hype—it’s not even the Chargers, really.

I have more confidence in Trevor right now than anyone else in our bullpen. He’s been pitching well in save situations for a while now, including some games like this where he bailed out the sad sacks in front of him. He’s almost guaranteed to give up a run here, bases loaded, no outs, but he’ll lock it down.
