On 1360 this morning

They said Maddux cleared waivers. Did someone mention this already in a different thread.

They also said that the Padres should just Giles go to the Red Sox without a trade because the Padres should be acting cheap since they are always crying poor.

Also, the results of these waivers are supposed to be confidential, so the idea that we can talk about this is ridiculous. Stupid FO leaks.

Not really sure

Bud apparently wanted to make another double switch, umps wouldn’t let him. Giles stays in game, Hairston moves to 2B. Black tossed and then Colbert tossed.

No clue as to what actually happened, but I think Bud mistook this week’s US Weekly for his lineup card.

I don't quite understand

EGon ph for pitcher and then should be able to come in and play 2B and the pitcher bat in Iguchi’s spot. But the umpire didn’t like that for some reason. Maybe he didn’t announce it in the right order or something? Corey came out before he told the umpire about the double switch? Lame, if that is the case.

I just saw the second DP by Kouz and I agree, he was safe

he touched the bag and the 1B’s foot was NOT on the bag! That’s the second bad bcall, remember on Tuesday, when they called Beltran safe at first and he was out, then he scored the 6th run, which was the winning run. I know there were two errors on that play, but he never should have been on the bases to begin with!

“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.”

I think this was the jist

Umpire misunderstood what Buddy Black wanted to do. And when Buddy tried to explain it the umpire said that wasn’t what he said originally and wouldn’t let the double switch go through. So Buddy complained to the crew chief who couldn’t do anything and Buddy got pissed and got thrown out.
