Padres vs. Yankees, June 2008: John and Becky should learn from Ray Kroc at the '74 home opener.
Perhaps the lowlight of this disappointing '08 season was the sweep arse-kicking the New York Yankees did to our Padres two months ago, in June. In game one, the Friars arses were handed to them, no offense, no defense, no pitching, no win. The next game, Jake Peavy lost to a pitcher I never heard of Class B pitcher named Darrell Rasner. And finally, we did well against Joba Chamberlain, but we lost again. If John and Becky Moores learned about this 3-game disaster in the Bronx, they should have flown to New York after the 8-0 loss to the Yanks, and do his best Ray Kroc impression (the one where the new Padres' owner saw the team play uninspired baseball during the '74 home opener against the Astros, losing 9-2 and said:I've never seen such stupid ballplaying in all my life!), then tell the team that if you lose all 3 games in New York against the Yankees, you will be looking for a job outside of baseball. If the Yankees ever come to PETCO, I hope and pray that the Padres will give A-Rod & Co. the biggest arse-kicking San Diego will ever see since the Chargers current domination over the hated Oakland Raiders. I just don't want to talk about Padres vs. Yankees, 2008 edition for a while right now...

I’m pretty sure you’re the only guy talking about a 3 game series from 2 months ago. Maybe if John Moores was going to do his best Ray Kroc impersonation he should have done it when Uncle Zito was bending us over.
