Another night, another loss. Getting swept by a division rival is the mark of a team that clearly doesn't give a crap anymore. Go Padres.
It appears that Dirk Hayhurst will start Saturday against the Giants. I'm kind of excited about that.
Jody Gerut has been one of the few bright spots this season.
Geoff Young from Ducksnorts has a cool piece up at Hardball Times on free agent overcompensation.
Cha Cha takes on Tim Lincecum tonight, as the team goes for its 80th loss of the year. On paper, this looks like a big mismatch. It'll probably look like that in real life, too. Game time is 7:15pm PDT.

Judging by the number of comments you have posted over at the Snake Pit, it would seem you’re a fairly senior member and obviously a regular. I just looked at my number of comments on the GLB and it’s very similar to yours…except for one major difference: I don’t have one single comment posted over at the Snake Pit.
There are two reasons for that:
First off, I respect our little community over here and by going over to the Snake Pit and posting negative things about the D-Backs or members of your community, it sheds a negative light not only on me…but on every member of the GLB.
And secondly, because I show your house respect by not trolling…I would hope that other members of my community, and ultimately people in your community as well, would follow that example.
Please stop embarrassing yourself and the AZ Snake Pit by coming over here. Thanks.
