I'm a little bit worried about Peavy's start tonight. He's really sad that Maddux is gone. He's trying to be strong and says he's happy for him, but deep down he's still in mourning. I heard Peavy was the reason Maddux left, just sayin'.
"He was awesome," Peavy said. "There's too much to put my hand on one specific thing that I learned. He was a student of the game. He knows so much about all aspects of the game of baseball. I think we all took bits and pieces almost daily from Greg, just watching him and listening to him."
"He's been in the game as long as those guys have, it seems like," Peavy said. "You can't have a better coach than somebody who does exactly what you do and can relate to you in that regard.
"He was under a great manager in Bobby Cox [in Atlanta] for years. He's watched and learned so much about the game. He's just like another coach, absolutely."
Poor little fella.
Jeez, I haven't looked at the standings in awhile, we're 17 games back from the lead. We were stuck at 10 for a long time, but I guess if you just continue to lose it'll happen. Anybody know the most the Padres have ever been back from the division lead since the current divisions were created?

A fall
Basically cancels out the advantage of having a more difficult routine. If the other athletes would compete at that level the fall would be killer, but since they can’t the fall doesn’t hurt as much. That kind of makes sense. However, it does remove some of the aesthetics to fall, and in a sport where dance moves matter, I guess that should matter as well.

Oh yeah, and that essay on temptation and steroids never really worked out. I used one article on Brian Roberts and the rest was about Othello. I was actually gonna use that guy and the prostitution ring whose name I’ve totally forgot but given the timing of the essay and the news at school, I decided that the time was really wrong to use that topic. And I did pretty well on that AP test I was whining about.
