Padres Roster Changes since Opening Day

I was just curious to compare the Opening Day 25 man roster to today's active roster.  Don't get me wrong, I don't think the Padres would have been good if they were healthy, they sucked pretty bad right from the start, but it is interesting to see how many guys survived the meat grinder so far.  Only 10 guys who started the season on the active roster are still there.  Of those 10, only 7 have stayed off the DL, but I'm just going from memory. Here's the Opening Day 25 man roster for 2008.

Players crossed out are gone and the players in italics were added.

Crabbe is not at Portland

He got returned to the club that we claimed him from, the Brewers I believe.

It's sad when you look at who the FO thought

they could use to build a team. But with 3 good years and only one (real) bad year – you have to give them a chance to work their magic and put together another winning team. Adams and Hundley have been the only pleasant surprises. At least they have tried out a lot of the farm system and can dump most of them with no regrets.

When Mark Cuban buys the team, he’ll have a solid core of player on which to build….

This also hides the Jim Edmonds for Jody Gerut thing

Since shortly after opening day Portland went Gey and we got the old man.
