Two out rally plus solid bullpen equals win.

Wins ML debut, first ML hit, first ML RBI. Welcome to the show, Chad.

Giles clutches up!

Optimist Island:

Jody Gerut is now batting .352 over his past 20 games with seven home runs, 16 RBIs and 14 runs scored. Since Aug. 10, the Padres bullpen owns a 0.44 ERA with 25 strikeouts, compared to eight walks over six games. source

Pessimist Peninsula: Baek's at home today (0-6, 7.04), Padres are facing a lefty (divide by zero), who is a local (double damn).

Strasburg News: Nats pulled another game ahead.

Baek in it to win it for the rubber game against Cole Hamels. It's Baek's bad PETCO mojo vs. lefty local boy mojo. Nationally televised by the four-letter network (really, guys?), game time 5:05PM PT. The Dykstra will be taking BP with the team.

Go Padres!

Maddux talks look like they are going to heat up again.

I'm totally against this now unless they give us something really good.

Screw the Dodgers. They cried about having to pay the rest of Maddux’s salary and now look at his last 4 starts. Dude has been awesome. Dumbass decision by them. Now they get a second chance at it? Forget it.

Brad is so hot.

Nice job, Axion.

KT Quotes

Asked if the Dodgers inquired about Maddux this week after putting pitcher Brad Penny on the disabled list, Towers said, “No comment.”

It depends how desparate they are....

I would hate to take advantage of them and steal a prospects from their famous farm system

:)

Optimist Island is a lone isle where the sun is always shining and the weather always sweet.

Pessimist Peninsula is overcrowded, cloudy, and miserable. Everyone there secretly wishes it was an island.

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

I would like a one-way ticket to Optimist Island

Only I am stuck on Padre Pessimist Penisula this year.

The tide came in.

Press Pass!

They’ve invented a new unit of measurement beyond Kelvin, and it is called Gey:
12 RBI in 13 games this month, with 5 HR and batting .356 since Aug. 3.
What to watch for:
Gillies needs 1 RBI to break his tie w/ Benito Santiago for 9th on all-time Padre list, 2 runs to tie Nevin for 7th all-time, and 4 walks to tie Dave Winfield for 3rd all-time.
Adrian needs 1 HR to pass Steve Finley and Carmelo Martinez for sole possession of 10th all-time SD list. Needs 2 HR to become 3rd Padre with two consecutive 30 HR season. (Nevin, Winfield)

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

Now they can embarrass themselves on national television.

I’m guessing someone’s gonna make yet another baserunning blunder
